Continuous Open Bidding (COB)

What is COB?

Continuous Open Bidding is an informal recruitment process that allows eligible students to join a Panhellenic sorority outside of the formal recruitment period. It is a more relaxed and flexible way to explore joining a chapter.

Who is Eligible for COB?

You are eligible for COB in Fall 2025 if you have taken 12 college credits (credits taken in high school do not count), have not priorly been initiated into another Panhellenic sorority, and have not signed a MRABA within the past year. For specific eligibility questions please email the Vice President of Recruitment, Sara, vprecruitmentphc@gmail.com

How does it work?

Each chapter participating in COB may host casual, open events such as craft nights, movie nights, and more. These events are usually posted on chapter Instagrams and are open for you to attend. Chapters may also invite you to one-on-one coffee, lunch, or dinner dates to get to know you better in a more personal setting.

Bids

If a chapter feels you’re a good fit, they may extend a bid to you. You can choose to accept, decline, or request more time to consider the offer. Each chapter will let you know its timeline for when a response is needed.

MRABA

If you accept a bid through COB, you’ll need to sign a Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement.
